1.
HOW MUCH TIME DOES THE SYRIAN VISA TAKE BEFORE IT IS ISSUED?
A tourist
visa is usually granted the very same day. If you are a professional industry
personnel, your profession could delay the security check procedures.
If you are applying for the visa and you are coming to shoot. The visa section
will ask for the script of your film. This will take a while before the Script
approval arrives. The Script approval is also part of our services.
However, it is not obligatory, should you prefer to do it your way.
* Please be aware that no passports, holding the Israeli visa
are eligible for the Syrian Visa.

WHAT TYPE OF PERMITS DO WE NEED?
All shootings need to have the following permits:
- Script approval
- Shooting permits for GVs, historical buildings, religious buildings, schools
& universities, parks, private properties, government properties etc. are
required if applicable.
- Rushes Censorship approval, usually called Rushes Censorship stamp.

IS IT SAFE TO FILM IN SYRIA?
It is very safe to film in Syria.

WHAT SERVICES DOES PROACTION PROVIDE FOR A DOCUMENTARY?
PROACTION handles the production of Feature Films in Syria by offering the following
scheme of services:
- Scouting/recce
- Equipment Rental
- Casting of main roles and secondary roles
- Production Planning
- Crew
- Construction
- Props
- Wardrobes
- Post Production
- All other complementary services including approvals & permits, accommodation,
catering, transportation, translation & guides. etc.
p.s.: complementary services
are not offered if not part of a full production management service.
5.
DO YOU HAVE 35 MM EQUIPMENTS IN SYRIA OR DO WE HAVE TO BRING OUR OWN?
Equipments in Syria are available for both film (35mm & limited 16mm) &
digital formats (from DV up to HD).
Camera Kits, lighting & grip in Syria are of perfect condition and at very
reasonable rates.
Some productions prefer to bring in their own equipments with them. It is up
to you, but remember that you will need to specify that before hand because
you will need us to proceed with manifesting the Temporary Importation of Equipment
&/or Stock approvals.
6.
IS IT EASY FOR US TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE LOCAL CREW?
Local crew members have worked in may International productions and co-productions.
Many of them do speak either English or French. Our producers do make sure that
your crew and local crew are communicating well.
7.
WHAT DOES PROACTION CHARGE FOR THOSE SERVICES?
PROACTION charges ranges from 10% to 15% depending on the services required.
8.
IS THERE A RATE CARD FOR SERVICES IN PROACTION?
Prices differ drastically depending on the time of the year, quantities, period
and also on the standards that you lay down for your production.
PROACTION does work on a budgeting basis. However, once you have communicated
your basic requirements with one of our producers, a preliminary budget will
be presented for your review taking into consideration all the production parameters
you and our producer have set together.
9.
WHAT ARE YOUR WORKING HOURS?
Sunday through Thursday from 9:00 am till 6:00 pm local time.
Official Weekend is Friday & Saturday.
